About Google Sandbox
January 19, 2011The Google Sandbox is a terminology applied to the phase experienced by new websites that prolongs their inclusion in Search Engine Results of Google. Often new websites find themselves struggling through the Sandbox for Six to Nine months, during this time there's hardly any visitors to the site. Google Sandbox therefore checks the patience of webmasters and there's no quick fix for it.
But the one thing that's remained constant over the years, is that you need decent quality inbound links pointing at your site in order to get any attention from the search engines at all. And the whole time you were reading all those conflicting opinions about SEO, you could have been getting those links.
The Sandbox can have some very detrimental effects for small businesses that don't have the big marketing budget to get the word out there any other way. However, it does provide the company owner with the incentive to use the time within the Sandbox to carefully optimize their site.
Google Sandbox first came into progress around the year 2003 or 2004. Google in order to tackle the growing incidence of spam made certain changes in its algorithm. It took a longer time to obtain a rank in Google than the case previously. Google in fact fixed some rules and webmasters who did not adhere to the conditions found their sites being sand boxed. In other words, it is the penalty being paid by the new sites.

It is a research work because the ranking of a site keeps changing according to the various algorithms of various search engines. An optimizers needs to keep a constant eye on these algorithms, study them and optimize their sites accordingly.
There are currently three types of links: one-way inbound links or links coming in to your website; reciprocal links or mutual links between your website and the other website; and three way links. Three way links are actually a ploy by webmasters, who own multiple websites, to build up a specific website. With a three-way link, webmasters will link your site to their site.
Search Engine Optimization is one of those things that is complex and intimidating to most webmasters. Optimizing your site should not make you feel this way and its complexities can easily be broken down into bite sized tidbits. There is absolutely no reason why you should be intimidated by SEO, just learn a little and move on to the next aspect.
